Portrait Artist Amy Kidd, began her journey in photography in 2005 when she had portraits created of her youngest children, a boy/girl set of twins. A desire was birthed in her heart at that moment, but it would be another few years, after being gifted a camera, that she began to explore the possibilities. Amy was an elementary teacher for many years and holds a bachelors degree in Biblical Counseling and Life Coaching. Her love of beauty and art, coupled with her deep passion for people, is what motivates her each day to pursue portrait photography.
Amy's grandfather made his living as an artist in Coral Gables, Florida and raised five girls with his wonderful wife, Nayda. Amy was very close to her grandparents and was inspired by the love and passion she saw in her "Grampy." Even though he made a living by painting, he also had a camera on him most of the time and he never missed a moment of capturing the ones he loved most. A picture of her "Grampy" sits by her desk today, and she will always cherish the love he poured into her life.
Amy decided to pursue photography in 2009 and attended the Texas School of Photography for the first time. This is when she decided to take the leap into professional photography. Since then, she has studied under some of the most successful portrait artists in the country. She officially launched her business in 2010 and has continued to learn and perfect her art ever since then. Amy's love for people is what continues to inspire and motivate her each day as she creates beautiful portraits.
Amy's clients have often said that she has the gift of capturing the true essence of each person in a fun and relaxed way. Perhaps it is her deep love of people and ability to see the best in them that makes her creative sessions so easy. She desires to get to know the people she works with, hear their stories, and capture the authenticity of each individual behind her lens.
